Jaipur Indian Oil Depot in Flames

Posted on October 30, 2009, by seogirl, under General, News.

Massive Fire Broke in the IOC’s Fuel Depot yesterday. Its been over 17 years and the fire is still at its peak. It amassed all 11 Tanks filled with  Diesel & Petrol.

By far this is the biggest fire incident in India. It is visible even at a distance of 15 Km from the site. Petroleum Minister Murli Deora said today that there is no other way but to let the fuel burn away.  This devilish fire has claimed over 10 lives and over 150 have been left injured. But these are the official numbers and we all know its so much diff. from the actual.

What caused the fire –  Gas Leakage from one of the tanks.

The oil depot is located on the outskirts of Jaipur in the Sitapura Area and there were a lot of Engineering/Medical Colleges within close proximity of this area. An engineering student also confirmed that the glass windows shattered due to the explosion caused by the fire.

Already the government is not able to match up the Soaring high price of Petrol/Diesel and the exponentially increasing demand amongst the population. This incident confirms the failure of the Govt. Officials who claim to run the country successfully. I totally shun this situation and have no words to express my anger. What has happened is just because of the negligence in making proper security checks and audits in the plant. This is terrible.

Seems like government officials want to get paid high salaries, lots of facilities, free car, free telephones just by sitting at there homes and doing nothing. No one is bothered.

BUT I AM. And will keep on trying to make a difference till the time I have the power to express my views to the world via Internet.
